The Green Crew Supervisor works alongside apprentices and other team members to complete landscape installations, maintenance, tree planting, and snow removal. The position works to serve contracts, as well provides mentoring and task oversight to apprentices and seasonal workers in season.

  • Maintaining and beautifying landscapes throughout the city of Hartford.
  • Operation of machines for all landscape maintenance duties such as backpack blowers, lawn mowers, weed wackers (string trimmers) hedge trimmers.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition in the field and report vehicle maintenance needs.
  • Responsible for the installation of trees in the city, as well as maintaining them.
  • Complete various types of work during the work week, Mowing and general landscape maintenance, tree planting, tree watering and tree care, helping with Knox events and working in our community gardens.
  • Report any issues or problems, whether it’s amongst the crew members, customers or our equipment to the Director of Landscape Operations
  • Serve as a member of the snow removal team, including operation of snow clearing equipment.
  • Oversee and mentor teams of apprentices and/or seasonal employees, creating a cohesive team and ensuring proper techniques and procedures are followed.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and eligible to be added to commercial vehicle insurance
  • Experience operating landscaping equipment including plow trucks, zero turn mowers, etc. preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • At least 2 years of landscaping experience.
  • Must obtain excellent communication skills
  • Experience collaborating on highly performing teams.
  • Ability to present information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
